Book Discussion - "The Day the World Came to Town"

Join the Canajoharie Library and the Palatine Literary Society for a discussion of "The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland" by Jim DeFede. A feel-good book about a very tragic event in American history. The true story behind the events on 9/11 that inspired Broadway's smash hit musical "Come From Away." All are welcome!

Famous Fido: The Strange History of Early Canine Celebrity

By the late 1800s, famous dogs were all the rage. World-traveling “rovers,” mutts trained to act drunk on Vaudeville stages, and the canine film stars predating Rin Tin Tin are just a few of the dog characters who had bigger fan bases than some human celebrities. Historian Kelli Huggins will introduce you to the weird, but true, world of early dog stardom.

Arts Factory of Montgomery County Exhibit Reception

The public is invited to attend a free reception with artists featured in the Arts Factory of Montgomery County on Wednesday, May 27th, from 5 to 7 pm.

The Regional Art Galleries of the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library welcome visitors to a show of fine art by the Arts Factory of Montgomery County. The Arts Factory was formed in 2011 and is a non-profit organization whose mission is "To support, encourage and cultivate local artists, artisans and venues of the Mohawk Valley". Paintings and sculpture in the show will be on display Friday, May 18th through Wednesday, August 1st.
