If I were to tell you that a small, economically depressed Mohawk Valley village, about 200 miles northwest of New York, is home to a museum rich in significant works by 18th- to early 20th-century American luminaries such as Gilbert Stuart, Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, Thomas Eakins and George Bellows, you'd probably say, as I did, "Who knew?"

Diane Forsberg, Deputy Director & Chief Curator of The Arkell Museum at Canajoharie, joins us to talk about the exhibition, "Mark Adams and Beth Van Hoesen: Life Observed Up-Close" and this coming Sunday's Earth Day family events.
The mission of the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie and the Canajoharie Library is to promote and celebrate the understanding and enjoyment of the arts and humanities in Canajoharie, the Mohawk Valley, and beyond.
The Arkell Museum collects, preserves, researches and presents American Art and Mohawk Valley History, and promotes active participation in art and history related activities, to enhance knowledge, appreciation and personal exploration by all.
