Rachel Greenfield will give a talk on Mrs. Charles B. (Rose) Knox – the foremost businesswoman in America in the 1920s – her origins, rise to fame and fortune, and legacy to American women. Greenfield, who is writing a biography of Knox, will also speak about the growth of Knox Gelatine, the company Mrs. Knox ran from 1908-1947 and the many uses of Knox Gelatine in foods and medicine.
The Knox family came from Canajoharie. Greenfield’s presentation, which will be accompanied by many photos, will include information on the exploits of Knox’s founder, Charles Knox, his father, and his sister and little-known facts about Knox and Beech-Nut.
