Join Curator of Education, Mary Alexander, as she shares a closer look at the world of Fritz Vogt through his drawings.
Fritz Vogt was an artist who traveled the back roads and turnpikes of central New York in the 1890s. He often offered his services as an artist to capture the homes, farms, businesses, and outbuildings of local landowners. These charming drawings give a glimpse into the life of 1890s property owners, their holdings, and the architecture of the region.
This talk uses pieces from the Arkell Museum permanent collection, a private collector, and the Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers' Museum to illustrate the world of Fritz Vogt.
