Join us October 5, 2024, at 3 pm for the Arkell Museum's third annual Elizabeth Hearn Gleich lecture,The Night Watch: From Canvas to Clothing, presented by noted textile historian and weaver Rabbit Goody.
Rabbit Goody will discuss the Arkell Museum's scale copy of The Night Watch, and will talk about the actual canvases used by Rembrandt van Rijn for his work and the gorgeous textiles depicted in The Night Watch.
Lecture: 3pm - 4pm
All are welcome to this free event. Arkell Museum admission will also be free to all visitors on October 5th.

Rabbit Goody is a noted textile historian and weaver and founder of Thistle Hill Weavers. Founded in 1989, Thistle Hill Weavers is located in nearby Cherry Valley, New York. Here, Goody and her team of weavers make textiles for historic houses, movies and television shows, and high-end furniture and clothing companies. Rabbit Goody worked for many years at The Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown where she became a nationally recognized expert in American textiles and textile production. Her work can be seen at historic houses including George Washington’s Mount Vernon, The Emily Dickenson House, Harper’s Ferry National Park, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and many more. Goody’s extensive filmography includes Lincoln, The Mandalorian, Road to Perdition, Cinderella Man, Master and Commander, No Country for Old Men, Noah, Turn: Washington’s Spies, and The Gilded Age.
