15 Miles On the Erie Canal - Talk & Paddle Series

Travel 15 Miles on the Erie Canal (three miles at a time!) and explore the H.E.A.R.T. of the Erie Canalway with Down by the River Kayak Rentals, the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library, and Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site!

We are offering a free FIVE part Talk & Paddle Series launching from five locations in Montgomery County, NY. During these paddles we will explore the History, Environment, Art & Architecture, Recreation, and Transportation along the Erie Canal and Mohawk River with different speakers participating at each paddle.

All Launches are at 6:00 pm. All paddles are three miles.

Each of these paddles is three miles long; if you participate in all of them, you qualify for the 15 Miler designation of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor's Canalway Challenge!

Registration is required.for this FREE event!

There are ten kayaks available to reserve from Down by the River or BYOK (Bring Your Own Kayak)!.
